Saanich Peninsula Toastmasters Club 1288 is a welcoming public speaking, communication and leadership club serving Sidney, North Saanich, Central Saanich and the surrounding Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Our club provides a supportive environment where adults develop practical communication and leadership skills through regular practice. Members learn by delivering prepared speeches, responding to impromptu Table Topics questions, evaluating other speakers, leading portions of meetings and taking on different meeting roles.

Toastmasters is designed for people with a wide range of experience. Some members join because they feel nervous speaking in front of groups. Others want to improve workplace presentations, interviews, leadership skills, storytelling, meeting facilitation or everyday communication. Experienced speakers also benefit from regular practice, structured projects and constructive feedback.

Our meetings emphasize learning through participation. Members progress at their own pace while receiving encouragement and feedback from fellow members. There is no requirement to arrive as an experienced public speaker. Guests are welcome to attend, observe how a Toastmasters meeting works and decide whether the program fits their goals.

Saanich Peninsula Toastmasters is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide educational organization dedicated to developing communication and leadership skills.

Club 1288 has served the Saanich Peninsula community since 1979. Our club brings together people from different backgrounds, professions and stages of life who share an interest in becoming stronger communicators and leaders.

During our regular September through June schedule, we meet Tuesday evenings from 7:30 PM to 8:45 PM at the Shoal Centre, 10030 Resthaven Drive in Sidney, BC. Meetings are held on the second floor in the Card Room. Our summer meeting schedule differs, so prospective guests should check the club's current schedule before attending during July or August.

Whether your goal is to overcome a fear of public speaking, become more comfortable speaking spontaneously, improve professional presentations, develop leadership experience or simply meet people while learning a useful skill, Saanich Peninsula Toastmasters offers a place to practice.
