About

SOS Great Lakes, formed by  group of Canadian and American citizens to raise awareness of the potential threat to the Great Lakes posed by construction of an underground nuclear waste dump on the shore of Lake Huron. Every attempt at burying nuclear waste in the world has failed to contain the highly toxic materials they were designed to isolate. If Ontario Power Generation succeeds in building this dump, some 400,000 cubic metres of nuclear waste will remain highly radioactive for more than 100,000 years not only threatening the water supply to 40 million people who rely on the Great Lakes today but their future generations.
