Joshua A. Scoggins has extensive experience representing clients in a broad range of real estate and development matters, including purchase and sale transactions, commercial leasing, real estate development, construction law, easement acquisition, utility issues, title disputes, ordinance amendments, zoning and land-use approvals, and eminent domain and condemnation proceedings. He regularly represents commercial and residential builders, developers, property owners, and businesses before local governments, planning commissions, boards of commissioners, city councils, and administrative boards throughout North Georgia and northeast Metro Atlanta.

Josh also represents clients in zoning, land-use, real estate, construction, and condemnation litigation at the trial and appellate levels. Throughout his career, he has represented individuals, small businesses, financial institutions, insurance companies, national builders, real estate developers, private-equity funds, hedge funds, and Fortune 500 companies. His approach combines careful preparation, a detailed understanding of local government processes, and relentless advocacy focused on achieving each client’s goals efficiently and cost-effectively.

Jessica G. Cantrell focuses her practice on land use, zoning, real estate litigation, civil litigation, construction litigation, real estate disputes, and appellate matters. She brings a valuable and distinctive perspective to the firm through her prior experience as both a prosecutor and a judge. Jessica began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney, prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases before later becoming the lead child-abuse prosecutor for the Appalachian Judicial Circuit. In 2021, she was appointed to the bench, where she presided over criminal and civil proceedings involving ordinance violations, dispossessory actions, and other civil disputes.

Jessica’s background gives her a strong understanding of courtroom procedure, case evaluation, evidentiary issues, governmental enforcement, and judicial decision-making. She approaches each matter with careful attention to detail, sound judgment, and an ability to evaluate legal issues from multiple perspectives. Her litigation and judicial experience strengthens the firm’s ability to guide clients through disputes, administrative proceedings, negotiations, hearings, trials, and appeals.
