HISTORY
Established in 2002, the Seattle Wolves FC originated as a local amateur side competing within the Greater Seattle Soccer League (GSSL) 3rd division. The Wolves' roster was originally made up of friends and colleagues of the original founder and player/manager, Adam Welch. The team quickly moved up 2 divisions of play before beginning its transformation in the Fall of 2006. Welch handed the team over to then Wolves' player, Andrew Opatkiewicz, who brought Seattle area native, and long-time player, Clay Walton-House, on board. Clay was also currently working in the Seattle Sounders (USL-1) front office, and shared Opatkiewicz's vision for the club.
With new management and a growing player pool consisting of some of the best amateur athletes in the Puget Sound, SWFC grew out of its infancy as a local amateur team and expanded to include multiple squads and a hunger for higher competition. After dominating the Greater Seattle Soccer League's top three divisions, the Wolves moved to the Starfire Sports Complex (Tukwila, WA) where the Puget Sound Soccer League (PSSL), the premier men's amateur league in the state, had recently undergone a change of management to become the Starfire Premier Soccer League (SPSL).
Currently the Wolves have a tiered amateur to semi-professional system of teams, which compete locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
