About |
Sequoia Sentinels is a community-led effort to plant sequoia tree saplings across private lands and forests in appropriate areas of Southern California, specifically the Palomar Mountain area. Sequoias are native to California and are known for their longevity, with some trees living over 3,000 years. As some of the largest trees on Earth, sequoias play a vital role in ecosystems by providing habitat, stabilizing soil, storing carbon, and more. This initiative aims to engage local community members, schools, nonprofits, businesses, and government agencies in a collaborative campaign to plant and care for sequoia trees and to promote a sustainable future in Southern California.
