Friends in Solidarity (FiS) partners with Solidarity with South Sudan to support long-term, community-led development across South Sudan through education, healthcare training, sustainable agriculture, and pastoral care.

FiS supports teacher formation through the Solidarity Teacher Training College (STTC), prepares nurses and midwives through Catholic Health Training Institutes, strengthens food security through sustainable agriculture programs, and accompanies communities through pastoral care and trauma-healing initiatives rooted in the Catholic Church.

Working in close collaboration with local leaders, educators, healthcare workers, and pastoral teams, Friends in Solidarity focuses on dignity-centered accompaniment rather than short-term aid. Its programs emphasize skills, leadership, and community resilience shaped by local knowledge and faith-based values.

Through webinars, reports, and storytelling, FiS also works to raise awareness in the United States about the realities and hopes of life in South Sudan—inviting supporters to walk in solidarity with communities shaping their own futures.
