About

The Sonoran Desert is the most biologically diverse desert in the world. Sonoran Desert Falconry is a non-profit corporation organized to conduct educational programs on the Sonoran Desert and its wildlife, with an emphasis on birds of prey. Using a sophisticated blend of technology, bird of prey husbandry, and access to the 30,200-acre Sonoran Desert Preserve we are creating an online portal and in-school educational program on Arizona desert ecology and conservation.
Sonoran Desert Falconry, Inc. will have primary and secondary target markets with different strategies to reach them. The primary target market is disadvantaged children, ages 11 – 14, which is middle school age, in the state of Arizona. The secondary target market is science teachers all over the country.
Through our interactive website and social media platforms, Sonoran Desert Falconry Inc. seeks to provide educational material for teachers to expand their STEM curriculum. The Sonoran Desert Falconry website will have web camera streams (such as Harris’ hawks, Aplomado falcons, The Sonoran Desert Preserve, and Sonoran Desert tortoises) that are operable 24 hours per day. The potential to benefit society exists by encouraging disadvantaged youth to consider STEM careers, thereby increasing diversity in these fields.
