Southgate Coins is a coin dealer in Reno, Nevada. We specialize in Carson City coins, and we also buy and sell gold and silver bullion. We offer appraisals for rare coins, as well as auction consultation.

Southgate Coins has been in Reno, Nevada for 12 years, and we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service to numismatists not only in the Northern Nevada area, but nationwide.

We have built some of the finest known coin collections, including the prestious Battle Born Collection of Carson City coins, which sold at auction in August 2012 for nearly $10 million!

In addition to our history and inventory, Southgate Coins owner Rusty Goe has written two, textbook-length books about the Carson City Mint: The Mint on Carson Street (2003), which one Book of the Year honors by both the Numismatic Literary Guild and the Professional Numismatist Guild, and James Crawford: Master of the Mint at Carson City – A Short, Full Life (2007), which received the NLG’s Extraordinary Merit award.
