About |
Speech Recovery Pathways (SRP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adults who have experienced stroke or brain injury. Founded by stroke survivor Ted W. Baxter, with the support of licensed Speech Language Pathologist Jennifer Rosales, SRP provides vital resources and a compassionate community for those on their journey to recovery. Our mission is to ensure that every individual has access to meaningful communication practice, the confidence to reintegrate into society, and the opportunity to connect with others who understand their challenges.
At SRP, we believe that communication is a fundamental human right, and no one should face their recovery journey alone. We offer a variety of online programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our members, including aphasia support groups, memory and problem-solving groups, Parkinson’s groups, caregiver support groups, partner training for couples, and even yoga and fitness sessions. These programs provide a safe and encouraging space for participants to practice their speech, share experiences, and build a strong support system.
Ted W. Baxter, our founder, brings a unique perspective to SRP. After a successful career in the financial industry, Ted experienced a massive ischemic stroke in 2005 that left him with aphasia. Through his own recovery journey, he learned the importance of regular practice, community support, and a positive mindset. His experiences inspired him to create SRP as a platform where survivors can find the encouragement and resources they need to rebuild their lives.
Jennifer Rosales, co-founder and a seasoned Speech Language Pathologist, adds her extensive expertise in working with stroke and brain injury survivors. Her commitment to thinking outside the box and creating engaging, supportive environments ensures that SRP's programs are both innovative and effective.
SRP’s approach is holistic and inclusive, focusing not only on improving speech but also on enhancing overall quality of life. We aim to empower our members to take charge of their recovery, foster meaningful connections, and regain their independence. Through our programs, we strive to show that healing is a journey, and with the right support, every step forward is a victory.
Speech Recovery Pathways is more than just a support group—it’s a community where individuals can find hope, strength, and a sense of belonging. We are proud to stand alongside our members as they navigate their unique paths to recovery, offering guidance, encouragement, and a platform for continuous growth. Join us at SRP, and together, let’s make the journey a little brighter for everyone involved.
