Founded in Toronto in 2014, Surf the Greats (STG) became a recognized part of Ontario's freshwater surfing community, bringing together surfers through its surf shop, school, events, and community initiatives.

After its original operations closed in 2025, Surf the Greats was acquired by new ownership in 2026 with a vision to bring the brand back while preserving its connection to the Great Lakes surfing community.

Relaunching October 10, 2026, Surf the Greats is beginning its next chapter as an online apparel brand featuring Great Lakes-inspired clothing and accessories.

Beyond apparel, STG aims to celebrate the people, places, and stories that make freshwater surfing unique. Future initiatives include collaborations with local surfers, photographers, artists, and businesses, alongside educational content and community storytelling.
