The Confederation of Nepali Industries (CNI) has launched a campaign called "Make in Nepal-Swadeshi." The campaign was launched in the presence of the honorable prime minister, KP Oli on 8 March 2021 AD.

The movement aims to create 1.5 million industrial jobs annually and increase the exports worth USD 4.6 billion over the course of the next five years with the products made in Nepal brands. The CNI has stated that the campaign would contribute 22% of the national GDP alone by the year 2024 and 25% by 2030.

The campaign has been launched with the aim of increase in domestic production and increasing competition among businesses and eventually increasing the demand for Nepali goods and products. The campaign has been organized with the consent and cooperation of the government and will promote the local industries to become self-reliant. It will happen by increasing the industrial base of the country and increase in the production of the local products. The movement aims to reduce the import of the products and promote them in the country itself. The confederation has stated that the campaign is Nepali that is organized for Nepal itself.

Not only the campaign would promote local production and distribution, but also help in the economic growth and living standard of the country. The number of employment opportunities created by this movement could prove to be very important to raise the living standard of people. Likewise, the standard and competition among the Nepalese industries would be boosted by this campaign. The need and demand of the products within the country will be promoted which will promote the usage of local products more giving made in Nepal brands the market they deserve.

Bishwo Poudel, chief economic advisor of CNI has stated that the campaign will be made successful by bringing all the domestic industries under the same roof and setting up a business-friendly environment, and making them self-reliant.  He added that the campaign can be made successful by promoting the use of indigenous resources and modernizing the service sector.

"Hamro Samaan, Hamrai Abhiyaan", as the tagline of the confederation, the promotion of domestic products have been promoted that make Nepali people proud.
