TRENDoholics LLC: A Story of Survival, Recovery, and Creativity

TRENDoholics LLC is more than an independent music and media company. Behind the company is the story of its founder, McClain Adam Conrad, an artist and writer whose life changed dramatically after a severe traumatic brain injury in September 2020.

McClain’s injury left him in a coma and began a journey that would include strokes, seizures, months on a ventilator, a feeding tube, rehabilitation, and a life filled with challenges he never expected to face.

After spending months on a ventilator, McClain lost his ability to use his voice the way he once could. His physical abilities were also drastically affected. He has spent years living in a nursing home, largely confined to his bed and dependent on assistance with many aspects of his daily life.

Despite everything he has lost, McClain never lost his creativity.

He still considers himself an artist.

He is still a writer.

He is still a songwriter.

And he still has stories to tell.

One of the biggest challenges was figuring out how he could continue creating when his physical limitations made using technology extremely difficult.

McClain’s mother refused to let those limitations stop him.

She came up with a creative solution that gave him a way to use technology independently. She taped a stylus to a selfie stick, creating an extended tool that McClain could use with the limited movement available to him. She also mounted an iPad to the side of the table next to his bed so that the device would remain within his reach.

That simple idea became a doorway back into creativity.

With the iPad positioned beside his bed and the modified stylus giving him a way to interact with the screen, McClain found a way to continue writing, communicating, creating, and developing his ideas despite being confined to a nursing-home bed.

Technology became more than convenience. It became a way for him to reclaim a piece of the independence his injury had taken away.

Artificial intelligence became another important part of that process.

Because McClain can no longer create music in exactly the same physical way he once could, he uses AI-assisted tools to help turn his ideas into music and other creative projects. He develops the concepts, lyrics, messages, emotions, and creative direction, while AI technology helps him bring those ideas into a finished form.

AI does not tell McClain’s story.

It does not know what he has survived.

It does not know what it feels like to spend years in a nursing home, unable to live life the way he once did.

The story comes from McClain.

The experiences come from McClain.

The ideas come from McClain.

AI simply gives him another way to express them.

For McClain, artificial intelligence is not replacing creativity. It is helping preserve his ability to create when his physical limitations make traditional methods difficult or impossible.

Every song becomes another opportunity to turn his experiences into something meaningful.

His music reflects his struggles, his dreams, his pain, his determination, and his refusal to give up. His creative work allows him to communicate even after losing the voice he once had.

McClain is also motivated by his four children. Although he cannot physically be with them the way he wants to because he lives far away in a nursing home, they remain one of the greatest reasons he continues pushing forward. He wants to support them, make them proud, and build a future they can believe in.

The company represents music, media, creativity, technology, and storytelling, but it also represents perseverance. It is proof that creativity can survive circumstances that seem impossible to overcome.

He cannot change what happened to him in September 2020.
