About

Taras Kharachko is a musician and nature conservationist from the Lviv region of Ukraine. By profession he is an associate professor at the Ukrainian National Forestry University and a researcher at the North Podillia National Nature Park. He is also a civic activist with NGO "ForestCom", focused on eco-education and forest restoration.
Taras has been involved in music for over 10 years. He plays the drymba – a traditional Ukrainian jaw harp rarely heard in contemporary popular music. For the past three years he has been releasing original tracks in reggae, raggamuffin, hip-hop and rap, as well as lyrical songs with guitar. He writes all lyrics himself or creates modern reinterpretations of ancient Ukrainian folk songs. He also sings in a church choir.
His YouTube channel features over 20 original works. Notable releases include the club single "Hey, Brattia Opryshky" and the new hip-hop reggae track "Pan Abo Propav" ("All or Nothing"). His music has also been featured on the Ukrainian cultural portal Eksperiment.
Taras Kharachko proves that authentic creativity needs no big stage – just something real to say and a sound to say it with.
