About

Our founder, Chetan Misra,  grew up in Orissa and completed his schooling from Delhi Public School, RK Puram, New Delhi and completed his Electrical Engineering/Economics degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. He then worked in Research & Development of sensor based wireless technologies in Washington DC, USA.

Having lived in the US for 10+ years while studying and working, played Football throughout his school and college days, being a keen observer/coach of the game, and most importantly, an avid Football fan, he spent a considerable amount of time exploring the Social and Football successes of the Girls grassroots Football programs in the US. He further identified ways to translate these processes & methodologies to benefit a developing country like India from three perspectives - Business sustainability of the programs, advancement of Football amongst boys & girls and the social impact of Sports. In early 2010, he came back to India and has been working full time in the Football ecosystem to pursue his passion to drive a collective effort to popularize the world’s most popular game in its second most populous country.

He, along with other football enthusiasts, founded FootballFirst Sports Pvt. Ltd with a focus on setting up grassroots coaching academies and leagues. He then started TheFootballLink, an online and on-ground football platform to connect all the stakeholders involved in football and organize various initiatives and programs centered around football. He then set up TheFootballLink Trust, an NGO with a focus on using football as a tool for social development for the underprivileged.
