Breaking Boundaries in Fashion: The Chrysalis Lab Leads the Upcycling Revolution

MALIBU, CA, July 27, 2023 – The Chrysalis Lab, an avant-garde upcycling fashion brand and studio-meets-retail space, is revolutionizing the industry with its unwavering commitment to sustainability, creativity, and community engagement. Founded by Emma Trask in 2021, an award-winning celebrity stylist and visionary entrepreneur, The Chrysalis Lab is transforming the perception of fashion by crafting unique collections from existing garments and vintage designer clothing.

With a profound mission to foster sustainability and conscious consumption, this Malibu-based studio celebrates individuality and self-expression, inviting clients to actively participate in the transformative upcycling process, aptly known as "chrysalization". Through these collaborative efforts, the studio and its clients breathe new life into old garments, cultivating creativity, environmental awareness, and embracing sustainable fashion practices.

Taking inspiration from the metamorphosis of a butterfly, Emma's label employs various artisan techniques, including knitting, crochet, rope art, and macramé, to upcycle existing garments into beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that captivate the senses and epitomize conscious fashion.

"In the depths of fashion's excess, I found my purpose," says Creator and Upcycling Designer Emma Trask. "After twenty years in the fashion styling industry, witnessing the mountains of waste and the relentless cycle of fashion consumption, I knew it was time for change."

Trask expresses her enthusiasm for the brand's mission: "I firmly believe that sustainable fashion is not just a fleeting trend, but a necessity for the future. By offering unique, one-of-a-kind pieces and promoting conscious consumerism, I hope to inspire individuals to make more sustainable choices and contribute to a better fashion industry."

Central to The Chrysalis Lab's ethos is an unwavering commitment to support fellow designers and artisans within the upcycling and repurposed fashion realm. Emma's vision extends beyond her own brand; she aims to build a community of artisans and like-minded individuals who share a passion for sustainable fashion and design. Alongside the meticulously curated gallery collection of upcycled vintage pieces that have undergone the chrysalization process, The Chrysalis Lab also proudly showcases a rotating selection of innovative designers and artisans making significant impacts in the ethical fashion revolution. Through experiential workshops and events, such as the highly popular Taste + Makers series, Emma fosters a sense of community and creates opportunities for collaboration and learning.

With its refreshing approach to fashion, The Chrysalis Lab has garnered attention from fashion enthusiasts and eco-conscious consumers alike, positioning itself as a prominent force in the upcycling fashion movement.
