Independence Anytime, Anywhere!
An Organizational and Reference System for People with Social and Cognitive Challenges
Help individuals become less prompt dependent, think for themselves and build self-esteem!
The Planner Guide is a Web and Mobile Application(s) created by two special education teachers and a speech and language pathologist with the mission of teaching individuals with disabilities to think for themselves.
Geared for pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults, the application contains 135 reference guides that provide information about daily living - what to expect or how to do something.  Text, as well as gender and race neutral graphics accommodates all levels of non-readers and readers. Many of the guides can be personalized to meet the specific needs of the user. An interactive calendar and schedule/checklist component can assist with organization to reduce prompt dependence and foster self-esteem.  A print option is also available. Areas include Personal, Problem-Solving, Communication, Relationships, Community, Work, Home, Technology, School, Stress Management, Self-Advocacy, Personal Safety and Interdependence.  Reference Guides are easily customized on a computer and then available to the user on any portable device.
