85% of what we worry about never happens

Take a moment to think back. What if, at a young age, we had the guidance to train our minds to think with confidence and to cope with worry and stress? For many of us life would have been less stressful filled with happier memories, better choices, and more accomplishments.

As we grow older, a good majority of us fall into the trap of constant worry, and find it difficult to stay positive. After all, we all have a lot on our minds and life isn’t easy. Have you ever stopped to realize that your inner voice and how you process your thoughts makes the difference between a happy life and a life of worry?

It’s also important to teach our children not to go through life feeling like a victim. Self-pity and a “why me?” attitude can erode and eventually destroy positive self-talk and self-confidence. Teach your child that his or her attitude is created through a way of processing the world around them. We are responsible for our thoughts. Challenges and defeat can be turned around and viewed as lessons of confidence building and what could be done differently next time.

But, as parents and caregivers, how do we teach these critical lessons? After all, most of us have never been tought these lessons ourselves.

The Worry Chest will navigate you and your child through a simple and fun method to manage the difficulties and challenges that life presents to us.

Why experts call The Worry Chest a “powerful tool”. The Worry Chest is powerful because it teaches children to learn how to cope and conquer worry through the experiences in their own lives.

How does it work?

Think of The Worry Chest as an ongoing worry “diary”. As you and your child record the challenges in his or her life, you both begin tracking what actually happened vs. what never happened. Your child will see all of this right on the computer screen, as worries have been recorded and are now tangible. These worries and stressful thoughts can be reflected upon at any time, opening the door to many incredible lessons that can be brought to your child’s attention; such as reinforcing the accomplishment of having overcome past obstacles, that many problems never happened, and so much more. These realizations alone are powerful, life changing skills.

The power of positive thinking...

After a little time goes by, your child will be able to grasp, through a concrete, simple method, that he or she can handle life’s challenges. So as life goes on along with the problems, your child can adapt an “I can handle this” attitude. This is a vital life changing lesson, as situations can be tackled with confidence and determination as opposed to fear and anxiety.
