Dateline: Tampa— September 12 — TikToker, TitanicFan97, has just acquired his 500th copy of Titanic on VHS.  He has amassed this collection, beginning in 2012, by purchasing cassettes at thrift stores and flea markets.  When his channel started gaining popularity, fans started sending tapes and the collection started taking off.  He receives an average of 10 packages per week containing up to 17 copies each.

The collection consists of 445 standard editions, 50 widescreen copies, and 5 specials editions in which 36 are factory sealed.  Over the years, Titanicfan97 also has 10 DVD’s, 3 laserdiscs, 25 soundtracks, and a ton of other titanic related items, including some custom fan-creations.  The iconic Titanic double box is one of the most recognizable VHS’s ever to be released.

ProductTitanicfan97’s channel on TikTok is gaining, on average, 400 followers every day with a current count of 47,000 and over 1 million likes.  He creates videos searching for new copies of Titanic at thrift stores, opening fan mail, or visiting attractions with his array of Jack Dawson themed puppets including, a full-sized Jack Dawson mannequin, Jack Dollson, Jack Smallson, Jack Dogson, and the newest edition, Goo Goo Gawson.
