Name: Patrick Treacy

This travel series is to be used in conjunction with the adventure travel website

The website pages are largely taken from Patrick Treacy's weekly travel series 'Destinations', which was originally published in 'The Irish Medical News' in the period 2001-2003. Some are also taken from his earlier 'County Cameo' column in the Fermanagh Herald during the early nineties and the UK medical magazine 'The Doctors Post'. The author is also a travel writer with Ireland's 'Social and Personal' Magazine and an invited video contributor to many travel websites including TripFilms, Backpacker magazine and National Geographic's 'Everyday Explorers'. His travel stories have been read out on BBC Northern Ireland and more recently on RTE Lyric FM. Dr. Treacy is Medical Director of Ailesbury Clinics Ltd. He is also Medical Director of DHI (Ireland). He is head of the Irish Association of Cosmetic Doctors and is Facualty Committee Member and Irish Rep. of the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He practices cosmetic medicine in his clinics in Dublin, Cork, London and the Middle East. He won Irish "Professional Journalist of the Year" in 2003 for his award winning column "Tthe Cutting Edge" published weekly in the Irish Medical Times. His lecture series on minor surgery was published in Modern Medicine of Ireland and concurrently on www.minorsurgery.net, of which he is the editor.

Dr. Treacy is a cosmetic columnist with Ireland's Rejuvenate Cosmetic Surgery Magazine, Health & Living Magazine (www.hlaw.ie) as well as the UK Aesthetic Medicine and MediSpa Destinations Magazines. Dr. Treacy is regularly invited to speak about Cosmetic Medicine on Irish breakfast television (TV3), RTE TV and Discovery Health and has been an expert panelist with the BBC World Services on many occasions. Dr. Treacy has worked in his profession around the world including Ireland, the United States, Australia, NZ, United Kingdom, South Africa, Gibraltar, and Iraq. He has assisted in many thirld world projects. His travel tales from these regions have been published and may be seen under website (www.patricktreacy.net). He was amongst the founder members of the field of medical aesthetics, while practicing in Australia in the late ninties.
