TruWest Credit Union is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona and operates as a cooperative to provide its membership with a lifetime of quality financial services and a culture of caring for its members, employees and communities. TruWest is a strong and sound financial institution with 13 branches–nine in the metro-Phoenix area and four in Austin, Texas.
Gone are the days when you couldn't join a credit union unless you worked somewhere specific. TruWest Credit Union is community-based, which means membership is open to people living within certain geographic areas, as well as employees of certain companies.
If you are new to credit unions it's important for you to know that TruWest insures its members' accounts, just like a bank does. Each member relationship with TruWest Credit Union is insured to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government agency. IRA Savings and IRA Certificate accounts are insured separately by the NCUA up to $250,000. Investment Certificates and IRA Savings accounts are also insured separately for an additional $250,000 by American Share Insurance, a private insurer.
TruWest members have access to their accounts at 6,300 shared branching locations and more than 28,000 surcharge-free CO-OP Network ATMs nationwide. TruWest even provides a helpful lookup tool to help you find the location closest to you – no matter where you are.
You’ll find that TruWest does things a little differently than your bank; we have made a promise to combine Great Rates, Great Products and Great Service with a Culture of Caring for our TruWest members, employees and communities:
From our members who have been with us for years, to the members who are just joining the Credit Union, we ensure that each of their current and future financial needs are kept at the forefront of everything we do.
Our hardworking employees are the lifeline of the Credit Union, and we make it a priority to create an environment that helps develop, support and reward them. Our goal is to make TruWest a company that our employees rave about to their friends and family as a great place to work.
As a socially responsible member of the community, our efforts can be seen incorporated into all of our business practices, as well as in our time spent volunteering for charities, presenting financial education to local schools and monetary donations to charitable organizations.
