Located in Batavia, Illinois, Vanguard Gifted Academy is a premier micro-school specifically designed to meet the unique intellectual, social, and emotional needs of gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) learners.

At Vanguard, we believe that education should not be a "one-size-fits-all" experience. Our school utilizes a highly personalized, multi-age "Band" system (Band One and Band Two) that allows students to progress based on their mastery of concepts rather than their age. This approach ensures that every child is consistently challenged and engaged in their learning journey.

Our Mission and Philosophy
We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and stimulating environment where neurodivergent students feel understood and supported. Our curriculum is built on three core pillars:

Personalized Learning Tracks: Tailored instruction that respects the individual pace and interests of each student.

STEM and Innovation
Vanguard is a hub for innovation. From our championship-qualifying Sphero robotics teams to our hands-on 3D printing and digital crafting labs, we provide students with the tools and mentorship (such as our dedicated coaching from educators like Kelly McCarney) to own their learning and excel in technical fields.

Community Integration
As an active member of the Batavia community and the Batavia Chamber of Commerce, Vanguard Gifted Academy strives to build partnerships that benefit our students and the region. We regularly collaborate with local organizations and higher education institutions to provide unique opportunities for our learners.
