SEATTLE TENNIS CLUB TO HOST THE WASHINGTON STATE OPEN
TENNIS TOURNAMENT AUGUST 3-8, 2010

SEATTLE, WA, JULY 28, 2010:  The Seattle Tennis Club will host the 120th Washington State Open Tennis Tournament on August 3 through August 8, 2010. This is the 120th year the Club has hosted this event and the only Club tournament which is open to the general public. There is no cost to attend this event. Street parking will be limited with an estimated 10,000 spectators expected to attend the six day tournament.

Over 500 players are registered to participate in the tournament, with total prize purse of $18,000. The tournament includes Men’s & Women’s Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles events.

The tournament is sanctioned by the U.S. Tennis Association. Title sponsors include Ewing & Clark, Inc., Phil Smart Mercedes Benz Center and Badgley Phelps Investment Advisors.

The 120 year-old Seattle Tennis Club is located in Madison Park on the shores of Lake Washington. The members-only Club sits on roughly eight acres of prime waterfront property and offers its 3,000-plus private members 19 tennis courts, a fitness center, squash courts, several dining facilities, a swimming pool, beachfront, boathouse and Pro Shop. The much sought-after STC banquet facilities cater to over 40 weddings per year, as well as numerous other events, including the Washington State Open, the most prestigious tennis tournament in the state.
