About

WellFit along with Marathon Makeover is a 40-week, marathon-training, wellness program helping ordinary people do the extraordinary — train for and finish a half or full marathon. We have walkers, runners, joggers and woggers (walk/jog) – and most of our past marathoners could barely walk or run one mile when they started. Through our hands-on training, positive motivation and the friendly group experience of Marathon Makeover, people from all walks of life and ages have grown through this life changing experience.

Why WellFit Portland?
On a psychosocial level, we need community more than ever; we need intimate face-to-face encounters where individuals can grow together and share in interpersonal interactions. When humans face a challenge together, the commitment to see one another through in goal attainment increases. Whether there is a common goal or an individual goal, when undertaken as a group, there is accountability to self and to each other to follow through.

Teamwork is a powerful motivator, as evidenced by the success of television reality shows like Expedition Impossible and The Biggest Loser. Teamwork and not wanting to let others down are hallmarks of the importance of actual community and the inter-dependence we have as humans for personal success.

You can make your dreams come true. No clichés, no quick fixes, but with a bit of intention, determination and focus, it can happen. With WellFit Portland we will be your guides, facilitators, instructors, trainers, partners, teachers, coaches, mentors throughout your 40-week adventure using the half and full marathon as your platform to wellness.
