About |
What Can Kill Me is a next-generation, location-based outdoor safety app currently in development that helps people identify potential hazards before they become emergencies. Designed for hikers, campers, travelers, runners, off-road enthusiasts, photographers, families, and anyone exploring unfamiliar places, the app brings together hazard information into one easy-to-use interactive map.
Users can view and eventually report hazards such as venomous wildlife, toxic plants and mushrooms, dangerous water conditions, severe weather, wildfires, difficult terrain, infrastructure issues, environmental hazards, and human-related safety concerns. The goal is to increase situational awareness so people can make informed decisions before they head out, not after something goes wrong.
Unlike traditional navigation apps, What Can Kill Me focuses on helping users recognize and avoid potential dangers in their surroundings. Future versions are planned to include community-reported hazards, real-time alerts, hazard severity ratings, educational safety information, and personalized risk awareness based on a user's location.
The current public demo is an early beta designed to gather feedback from real users. While some features are still under development and occasional glitches are expected, every suggestion helps shape the future of the platform. The vision is to create the world's most comprehensive outdoor hazard awareness app—empowering people to explore with greater confidence and return home safely.
