Abitare first opened its doors the the public in 1976 in an old Mill in Burnley. From that grew two more stores in Wigan and Leeds. As business change the Burnley and Leeds stores were bought by developers, leaving the Company in the fabulous position to be able to expand and build new premises in Wigan.

10 years ago Abitare moved into the new and larger site in Wigan and began a process of making the business market specific. Over the years the business had sold a huge range of furnishings products to a huge range of markets. As times and styles have changed over the years the business has changed from being all things to all people, to market specific. Now in 2013 we have a business that celebrates all that represents innovative, modern and quality furnishings from all over Europe and the UK.

We now have a business that represents the best there is with Galleries from some of the world's most famous brands. Natuzzi Italia, Leather Editions, Calligaris, Cattelan Italia, Skovby, Jesse, Presotto, Nolte, Venjacob, Millbrook, Hypnos and many more. The idea behind the business for 2013 is to offer a great selection of bespoke products from a limited range of quality suppliers. So now we have 30,000sq ft store that is dedicated to quality and style.
