SAFARI TRIP IN ETHIOPIA Day 1: Arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Air port Meet and greet you Addis Ethiopia Tours representative at exit of luggage claim and transfer you to the hotel. Overnight stay in Addis Ababa. Day 2: Addis Ababa City Tour You will have an early breakfast and your first visit in Addis Ababa will be the National Museum (pre historic, cultural, archaeological attractions), Ethnographic Museum of Addis Ababa University (culture, dressing style, traditional practices of over 80 ethnic groups, and collection of traditional musical instruments). Lunch at Lucy Restaurant. Your visit also comprises tourist attraction sites like Emperor Minelik’s Palace, St. Raguel’s Church (after a drive to Entoto Mountain - 3000 meter above sea level), Merkato, (the largest open market in Africa).In the evening, we will host you at one of the best traditional restaurants of Addis where you can see the folk dances of the Ethiopian people and taste Ethiopian variety of meals. Overnight in Addis Ababa. Day 3: Drive to Debrie Ziet/Bishoftu/ Kuriftu Lodge. On this day you start your drive to Bishoft (50km from Addis Ababa). Upon arrival check in to the lodge Kuriftu Resort and Spa. Stay the rest of the day. Overnight in Kuriftu Lodge. Day 4: Drive to Awash National Park After breakfast, you will drive to Awash National Park (225 Km from Addis). On the way, you will visit Lake Basaka and its aquatic birds. Up on arrival at the park, you will check into a lodge. In the late afternoon, you will do sightseeing at the Awash waterfalls and see the wild life. In the evening, you will have dinner, rest & spend the night there. Overnight in Awash Falls Lodge. Day 5: Drive to Bilen Eco-Lodge You will have an early breakfast and drive to Bilen Eco-lodge (318 Km from Awash National Park). You will have for lunch at Bilen Eco-lodge. You will arrive in Bilen in the afternoon where you will check into a lodge. Later you can enjoy the Bilen natural pool of the hot spring and an excursion Camel Caravan tour to the Afar Village. Then you will have dinner & spend the night there. Overnight in Bilen Eco-lodge. Day 6: Drive to Langano, Sabana Beach Resort After breakfast, you will be driven to Sabana Beach Resort, Langano (311Km from Bilen Eco-lodge), where on your way make a stop on Awash River and Lake Ziway to visit aquatic birds. Lake Ziway, the shallowest lake in the Rift Valley chain of lakes which depth 7m. Its extensive aquatic vegetation attracts a variety of water birds. You will stop for lunch at Ziway. Your arrival in Langano will be late afternoon where you will check into a resort. Later, you can relax, and rest. In the evening, you will get back to the resort and you will have dinner and stay the night in the resort. Overnight in Sabana Beach Resort. Day 7: Drive to Langano, Bishangari After breakfast, you will be driven to Bishangari, Langano, Its extensive aquatic vegetation attracts a variety of water birds. Commonly seen and easily identified are; Saddle-billed stork, greater jacana, African fish eagle, darter, herons, darters and Wood hoope. Later, you can explore the riverine forest and adjacent lake for birds such as Yellow-Fronted Parrot, White Cheeked Turaco, Orange-bellied Parrot, African Paradise Flycatcher, Bare-faced Go-Away Bird, African Fish-eagle, Cuckoo Shrikes, Kingfishers, Weavers and water birds including Egrets, Herons, Cormorants, Gulls, Geese, Ducks and Shanks. Overnight in Bishangari Lodge. Day 8: Drive to Wondo Genet After breakfast, you will be driven to Abijata-Shalla National Park (15Km from Sabana Beach Resort) to visit the hot springs inside the park. Then continue drive to Wondo Genet (70km from the Abijata-Shalla National Park). Your arrival in Wondo Genet will be in the afternoon and check into a hotel. Later, you can walk in the surrounding forest near Wondo Genet. The forests at Wondo Genet to visit the highland hot springs and enjoy swimming in the hot spring swimming pool which belongs to the Wondo Genet Resort hotel. Overnigh in Wabe Shebel hotel. Day 9: Drive Yiregalm through Sidama Village and Coffee Plantation You will have an early breakfast drive to Yiregalem (70km from Wondo Genet). On the way near to Yiregalm visit Giddabo Hot spring. You will arrive in Yiregalm in the afternoon and check in to lodge. Later you can make a short walk through the forest near Aregash lodge with a local guide. Here you can observe many birds and mammals such as Colobus monkeys, and many bird species. Overnight in Aregash Lodge. Day 10: Drive to Awassa You will have breakfast & drive to Awassa. After checking to the hotel, you can walk along the lake shore for nice evening sunset and aquatic birds. Overnight in Lewi Resort & Spa or Haile Resort. Day 11: Drive back to Addis Ababa After breakfast, you will be driving to Addis Ababa. You will arrive in Addis Ababa late afternoon.
