We are the musicians who teach, perform, and record. We provide musical education to young children and college students; we perform in clubs, festivals, theaters and concert halls. Our work is heard throughout the world on performance stages and chamber halls; in motion pictures, television, and video games; and streaming on the internet.
American Federation of Musicians Local 47, the musicians union of Los Angeles, serves to promote and protect the concerns of professional musicians in all areas of the music industry.
Formed in 1897 by and for Los Angeles musicians, our members united to ensure fair wages and working conditions, the right to collectively bargain, and dignity and respect deserved of hard-working professionals.
