About

The mission of AIA San Diego is to promote the profession of architecture in San Diego and support members in professional excellence.

The American Institute of Architects, San Diego represents nearly 1,000 members in San Diego County and is one of more than 20 chapters in California and among nearly 275 nation-wide. Founded in 1928, AIA SD has a long record of achievement supporting the interests of our members and our community through its vigorous advocacy for design, planning, sustainability, architecture education, professional development and civic leadership.

AIA SD offers services, programs and networking opportunities for practitioners, as well as initiatives aimed at more general audiences, often in cooperation with strategic partners in the community.

Those who hold an AIA designation embrace a commitment to the values of the Institute including maintaining the highest professional standards, making a personal investment in continuing education, recognizing responsibility to the community and placing the interests of clients at the forefront throughout the process of executing a project. For those seeking design expertise, an AIA-member practitioner is the right choice.
