Alex Zorach's Tea Blog
Alex Zorach's tea blog, run by the creator of RateTea, quickly rose to be one of the more prominent and influential tea blogs in spite of its young age and the fact that it uncreatively used the default blogger theme, and had an exceptionally uncreative name.
The blog has now been superceded by Teacology, a new blog by Alex Zorach, focusing on tea, with an ecological perspective.
Some of the most popular posts on the old blog include:
- More on Brewing Temperature - This is a fairly long and extensive post outlining some slightly unorthodox observations about the effects of brewing temperature on the outcome (in terms of flavor and aroma) on brewing various teas.
- Ten of China's Underappreciated Teas - Playing on the "China Famous Tea" top 10 lists, this is a list of ten delicious but less prestigious Chinese teas.
- Expensive Tea is Inexpensive - This post highlights the fact that gourmet and specialty teas are considerably less expensive per cup than most other sorts of beverages.
- Bottled Water for Brewing Tea: Responsible Choice or No? - A scathing critique of the common recommendations to use bottled water for brewing tea; this post offers many reasons to avoid bottled water.
