About

The American Dyslexia Association Inc. (ADA) is a non-profit organization based in Osprey, Florida. It provides help for children and adults with dyslexia and dyscalculia through free information, free teaching aids, and the AFS-Method.

The AFS-Method rests on three pillars: Attention, Function, and Symptom. Instead of drilling symptoms alone, it combines attention training, training of the sensory functions involved in reading, writing, and arithmetic, and targeted work on the symptoms themselves. More than 17,000 certified trainers in 64 countries work with the method today.

ADA publishes free worksheets and learning materials for teachers, parents, and tutors, maintains a public membership directory, and runs its own story and reading platform at dyslexia.me.

ADA accredits the Dyslexia Trainer Certification Program at dyslexiacertificate.com and is a member of the International Federation of Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Associations (IFDDA), the worldwide umbrella organization for non-profit dyslexia and dyscalculia associations.
