It has taken me far too long to realise what, in life, is important. Through personal experience and by witnessing the experiences of others in many disparate situations, I am able to draw on a wealth of history, events and emotional responses in writing my books. My first novel, 'Just Below The surface', reveals and explores suppressed emotions in a handful of characters that are exposed after one of their number makes seemingly ordinary changes to their life. My books can be read on two levels: an amusing, engaging story, light, refreshing, thought-provoking: or, the readers can allow themselves to be gently challenged to tap into the rich seam of empathetic recognition and appreciate the deeper, more psychological aspects of the intertwining stories.
