Information shared is organized and published in a way that makes it easy for backpackers to rely on each other instead of guidebooks.

Share the Knowledge.

Gathering and exchanging information is an important part of backpacking. As a community, backpackers embody valuable travel information that, if recorded, would represent the most comprehensive and reliable travel information available. The Company’s new Knowledge Sharing Portal is an easy way for backpackers to trade tips and advice, as well as ensure that accurate and reliable information is made available to tomorrow’s backpackers.

Ditch the Guidebook.

Today, most backpackers travel with some sort of portable device. With access to email, Twitter, Skype, Tumblr, and Facebook, backpackers are able to maintain constant contact with friends and family. This increased connectivity also allows backpackers to communicate with each other and to share advice previously passed on only by word of mouth. Through the Backpack Forever Knowledge Sharing Portal, backpackers can create their own online travel guidebook by sharing the tips they gain on the road.

Rely on a Fellow Backpacker.

Walk into any hostel in the world, and you’re sure to find travelers sharing tips and advice with one another.  Travelers make it a point to share what they know with other travelers about anything from ways to save money, where to party, scams to avoid, off-the-beaten-path diversions, and anything else other backpackers need to know.  

Backpack Forever’s Knowledge Sharing Portal brings these conversations online so that backpackers anywhere in the world can leave tips for future backpackers. Information is then catalogued by type (i.e., where to stay, food, sights, activities, nightlife, dangers & annoyances) and published to location-specific pages, making it easy for backpackers to find and research information.  

Profit-Sharing Principles.

In addition to fostering a community of backpackers and budget travelers online, one of the Company’s main goals is to help backpackers get paid while traveling. Backpackers who run out of money early have to return home early, and we think that stinks. The Company helps backpackers get paid while traveling by redistributing 100% of the Company’s profits to members and sharing advertising revenues with members who write. It is our hope that a little bit of extra income can help backpackers stay on the road a little longer.  

Non-Corporate Philosophy.

In the age of outdated guidebooks, social media, and portable devices, more and more travelers are turning to the Internet and each other for the best travel advice. This shift represents an opportunity for like-minded backpackers to work together and to profit from the collective wisdom of the backpacking community. Our goal is to help backpackers earn extra income while making it easy for backpackers to share tips and advice with each other.
