About

What is back\slash Magazine
back\slash is the unrestrained college lifestyle magazine. The free publication is targeted specifically at trendsetters among the college niche, and contains content relating to everything from sex, drugs, and rock n' roll, to politics, sports, and religion. Most of the content in back\slash is written by college writers attending school at leading academic institutions across the country. The full-color magazine is circulated quarterly, and enhanced by a localized bonus-book in five markets (which includes local advertising and local stories). back\slash is circulated on campus in publication bins in markets in which it is enhanced by the bonus-book.

The back\slash Story
back\slash Inc. was founded in 2008. The founders' vision was to create a way for advertisers to effectively reach students on a national scale--in print and through other platforms--with one stop. The company began publishing back\slash at three schools in Miami in August 2008; it was subsequently expanded in 2009 when the company began publishing a localized version of back\slash for Orlando and Tallahassee; and then again in 2010 when a localized version was launched for Tampa and Atlanta as well. Over the course of the last three years, back\slash has worked with some of the most high-profile advertisers in the Southeast, including: Metro-PCS, Universal Studios, Dunkin Donuts, The Florida National Guard, the US Marine Corps, the US Navy, the Art Institutes, Live Nation, Fat Head, Vitamin Water, and more.
