William Baker is Creative Director of the companies Never Trust a Stylist Ltd and B*Boy enterprises Ltd. He is most well-known for his 13 year career as Kylie Minogue’s Creative Director and stylist, and has also worked with a number of different artists including Jamiroquai, Garbage, All Saints, Tricky, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham.As Creative Director he originates and develops the entire creative and design concepts and oversees and directs all creative aspects relating to a stage show: performance, music, choreography, production design, lighting, video and costume.
The award-winning shows he has produced for Kylie have established her as one of the world's leading live performers, and have become legendary for their heady combinations of glamour, spectacle and style; consistently critically acclaimed for their impressive direction and presentation.
He has recently completed the direction of Kylie’s sell out world tour, Showgirl Homecoming. He also directed the upcoming Kylie Showgirl Tour film documentary, White Diamond, set to be released this autumn.
In addition to Kylie’s stage shows, he is also a photographer as well as a major collaborator on an increasingly diverse range of projects including photo shoots, video direction, writing and merchandise, as well as managing all creative and visual elements of the 'Kylie' brand including her successful lingerie line, Love Kylie.
He also oversees all of Kylie's promotional TV and Award Shows as well as one-off live performances and events. Much of their work together formed the heart of the hugely successful international exhibition Kylie, which broke attendance records at the V & A museum in London before touring the country. They have produced three successful coffee table books together: Kylie: Evidence; La, La, La…; and the most recent photographic volume to accompany the exhibition of Minogue’s stage costumes.[\n]As her stylist, he has styled Kylie and her dancers through numerous iconic pop videos including Slow, I Believe In You, Red Blooded Woman, In Your Eyes, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head and Spinning Around.[\n]He has also styled for Jay Kay and Jamiroquai, including work on several videos: Little L, Corner of the Earth, You Give Me Something, Supersonic and Love Fool.[\n]As freelance stylist he styled Shirley Manson and Garbage for the award-winning video Special, Milk, the James Bond theme The World Is Not Enough and When I Grow Up. Other video styling credits include Bjork’s Possibly Maybe, PJ Harvey’s A Perfect Day Elise, and Fiona Apple’s Never Is a Promise and Sleep to Dream. He has also contributed to numerous style bibles and magazines and has just launched his own underwear and swimwear label, ‘B*Boy’.
