About

I have been a Civil Engineering Designer/Drafter for Heidt since 2003.  I am also responsible for our CAD Standards, CAD Manual, Training, and IT work for our office.  I am also currently involved in our company wide implementation of Civil3D.  My design responsibilities include:  site design, (residential) wastewater design, utility design, and more.  I have been working as a drafter/designer since 1993.  I began drawing and detailing railroad tank cars.  I moved on and worked as a mechanical drafter/designer for an engineering firm that worked mostly with the Steel Mill industry.  I spent about a year working for a printing service that sold/maintained/installed Oce and HP plotters.  I then moved on to work as a structural designer/drafter and field inspector for a Structural engineering firm.  I have worked in many different engineering fields in many different ways.  I am now taking that diverse experience and sharing my knowledge and use of AutoCAD in a blog I call CAD-a-Blog.  I have also been writing for AUGI's Hotnews and AUGI World magazine.  This April I will be leading an ATP class on What's new in 2009.
