1st Sight Films is a film production company founded by Mark Playne. Our mission is to make films that primarily entertain yet have a strong social subtext that explore the state of our humanity. We believe that film is a great mirror, through which we as humans, can stare into our own eyes and get a glimpse of who we really are.

Our debut short film Love at First Sight has now played at over 90 International Film Festivals. The film has won 31 awards across three continents; including the Audience award at Newport Beach California; the Shin Young Kyun Arts foundation award at the prestigious Asiana Film festival in Korea; it was a finalist at the first Shot on RED 4k festival in Hollywood and Best Debut film at Rutger Hauer’s ‘I’ve seen Films’ festival in Italy. The film was also featured inflight as Asiana Airline’s short of the month in March 2013.

'Love at first Sight' is the story of a lonely young man’s increasingly creative attempts to attract the attention of the girl of his dreams.
