Bittylab®, is headquartered in New York City, founded in June of 2010 by mom and entrepreneur Priska Diaz. Makers of Bare® Air-free Baby Bottles, the only bottle that feed baby air-free milk in upright position to help prevent even the worst gas & colic.
Bare® air-free baby bottle uses a patent-pending fluid dispensing technology with moving parts (similar to a syringe) to maintain an air-free environment inside the bottle without air vents to help minimize gas/colic in babies due to air ingestion. Bare® also features an expandable nipple to resemble mechanics of breastfeeding in addition to shape, texture, movement, storage and delivery of milk.
The synergistic effect of combining these innovations allow baby to control the milk flow with sucking strength. It minimizes backwash & spit into the bottle to reduce bacteria-growth, keeping milk fresh longer and healthier.
Because Bare® works with suction as opposed to gravity (like all other bottles), Bare® is the only baby bottle that can feed in any position including upright. Pediatricians recommend upright feeding to:
Help prevent gas, colic, fuss & spit-ups
Calm acid reflux/GERD symptoms
Help prevent ear infections
Encourage proper feeding posture
Stimulate bottle weaning
Improve transition to cups
The Bare® Perfe-latch® nipple features different size orifices on its tip to dispense different flow rates controlled by the baby’s sucking strength. With weaker suction (i.e. a newborn’s) only the larger orifice dispenses (the large orifice is about the orifice of a standard newborn nipple). With stronger suction (i.e. a 10 month old baby) all the other smaller orifices dispense (like the mom’s nipple). The short tip stimulates baby to open his/her mouth wide to latch onto the areola part of the nipple, not just the tip. Once a seal is established and baby initiates suction, the short nipple extends inside the baby's mouth, much like mom's nipple.
In an independent trial, we found that babies with diagnosed Acid Reflux and GERDS showed up to 95% of symptoms improved after feeding with Bare® for a couple of days. Some babies were even taken off the GERDS medication prescribed by their doctors. See some of the testimonials here http://bittylab.com/Bare_testimonials.html
Babies who were never able to breastfeed (due to numerous issues such as mom’s low milk supply, poor latching, nipple confusion, etc.) learned, by using Bare, to latch on the breast and were able to reinstate breastfeeding even after 3-4 months.
