Whether buying a yacht for the first time or selling, the process can throw up a number of problems for the client. Fortunately all of these problems will be removed with the assistance and guidance of a good Yacht Broker. If selling a yacht the Bluewater yacht brokers will handle the marketing and advertising and place the yacht on their high ranking and modern web-site. This is an important first stage as with the correct marketing it will generate interest and source the serious potential purchasers for the yacht. Problems for independent yacht owners can arise concerning legal paperwork on the yachts registration certificates, VAT status, title etc, which are necessary in order to proceed with a sale. The Yacht Broker will check these papers are in order and upon a genuine client interest arrange a sea trial and a survey. The Yacht Broker will then help mediate between the two parties so that the correct legal requirements are followed and to finalise the bill of sale.

When chartering with Bluewater, there is an impressive selection of yachts of all sizes and  makes to match each individual’s budget. For the client this is an exciting moment deciding their dream yacht to charter. The charter Broker is there to give advice on different travel destinations so that the time spent chartering will be relaxing, well thought through and planned. The type of agreement the Charter Broker works to is a MYBA contract which is internationally recognised by the worldwide yachting Association. This agreement will protect the yacht owner, charterer and the Broker so that each party understands and adheres to their responsibilities during the charter period.

The yacht crew are contracted by the yacht owner or yacht Management Company, and will have the appropriate qualifications for their specific jobs. When a Captain is appointed in charge of a yacht he takes responsibility for the other crew members, charterers and the vessel. The safety of everyone onboard at all times is his ultimate priority. This is why every aspect of the yachts safety procedures and drills, maintenance and regular servicing of safety equipment is thoroughly controlled. Yacht crew undergo regular emergency training drills and this information is also given to charterers on their arrival to ensure everyone’s safety at all times whether at sea or in port.
