Welcome to the Fire Safety Protection Pro Blog! My name is Robert Avsec and I recently retired as a battalion chief from Chesterfield Fire & EMS Department in Chesterfield, Virgina after 25+ years.
I've started this website to help spread the fire safety message to as many people as possible. I'm not looking to replace any other organizations or individuals who've been doing this for many years, merely looking to help the cause.
The sad fact is that 4,000 people will die in fires in the USA--the majority of them in residential settings--just like they did in 2007, 2006, 2005, etc. Hundreds of thousands will be injured and billions of dollars in property will be lost and thousands of lives will be changed forever. We need to get serious about fire safety and prevention of fires in the USA and I'm here to help do my part.
