About

Inspired by the Italian Riviera and decked out in Milanese luxe, Bocconcino Restaurant in Mayfair is the go-‐to restaurant for a slice of la dolce vita in London.

Established by Russian restaurateur Mikhail Gokhner, Bocconcino Restaurant on Berkeley Street exudes glamour and elegance; spread over two floors and featuring an open-‐plan kitchen, statement bar and a menu filled with authentic Italian fare.

Descend from the main door down a sweeping iron staircase into the spacious basement dining room.

Warm, modern and stylish, it’s all exposed brick, glass elements and light wood with décor and table settings in rich creams, light browns and warm grey. Seating includes intimate alcoves for lovers as well as large and small group tables in full view of the theatre of the open-‐plan kitchen. Peer in as skilled Pizzaiolos stretch and toss dough effortlessly before baking in the searingly hot wood-‐fired oven ensuring crisp pizza perfection.

Italians flirt with the language of love but seduce with their delicious cuisine; the menu, inspired by Mikhail’s time spent along the coast of Tuscany, kicks off with starters of creamy burrata with basil pesto, salmon tartare with quail’s egg and Tuscan fish stew.

Crisp and rich, the pizzas are cooked to perfection in the custom-‐built, wood-‐fired oven, and the warm scent of fresh pizza lightly fills the restaurant throughout service. Tailor toppings by choosing from a variety of fresh and unique ingredients, or savour a speciality such as the sharp and sweet gorgonzola e pere, the calzone quattro formaggi e prosciutto or the pizza Bocconcino with soft, creamy stracchino and mozzarella cheeses, topped with juicy tomatoes and salty Parma ham. Other signature meat and fish dishes include wild boar ragù, black spaghetti with fresh calamari and salt-‐baked sea bream served with new potatoes.

Delve into dessert with their beloved pizza dolce (a heart-‐shaped sweet pizza topped with chocolate and a scattered with sweet berries) or take two spoons and a rich, robust espresso each as you share decadent desserts of millefoglie chantilly, sweet cherry pana cotta or a classic tiramisu. If the mood takes you, enjoy a little post-‐dinner digestif and sip Limoncello, Sambuca or Grappa for the real Italian job.

A statement oak bar topped with Tuscan marble offers Peroni on tap and Italian wines by the glass or bottle, with an eclectic mix of established vineyards and artisan winemakers hailing from all across Italy, from Lombardia to Puglia. A full selection of spirits make an aperitif an absolute must for every visit, while the expert bartenders sling a mean Negroni and fruity Bellinis or cool Aperol Spritz are great for Friday night cocktails with the girls or tempting tipples at a table for two on Saturday night.

Bocconcino Restaurant is not solely reserved for lingering, late-‐night dinners: open early for lunch, the elegant setting and first-‐class service suits a variety of occasions, from mid-‐week business meetings to a commensal Sunday lunch with la famiglia.
