About

The British School Manila was established in 1976, with just two classrooms and 36 students. It has now grown to more than 930 students, representing 33 nationalities. The school offers an education that nurtures the different strengths and aptitudes of our students, through a broad and balanced curriculum and a high level of individual teacher attention.

The school provides the highest quality British education, following an adapted form of the English National Curriculum from Nursery to Year 9 designed to inspire learning through being both relevant and flexible. We focus on developing  intrinsically motivated students who use questioning effectively, who collaborate and who leave BSM with ownership of their own learning. Our students are prepared for end of Key Stage tests in Primary, GCSEs at 16, the International Baccalaureate Diploma at 18 and for life in the 21st Century. In all comparative assessments, children at BSM perform well above UK and international expectations. On average, 70% of children attain level 5 at Key Stage 2, and over 95% of our year 11 students achieve the benchmark of 5 or more A*-C grades at GCSE, with 50% of all grades being A or A*.  Our IB pass rate (of over 90%) far exceeds international averages, and our students score an average of 3 to 4 points above the world average of 29.8 (out of a maximum of 45 points).
