Carter Counseling Center provides comprehensive counseling services for promoting wellness within individuals, and developing healthy, nurturing relationships in couples and families. We believe each individual has the potential for creating a healthier, more fulfilling life. Our aim is to provide the necessary tools and resources for continued growth. Through a professional, holistic approach, we provide a supportive, safe and nurturing environment for eliminating self-defeating patterns and developing life-enhancing practices. Our counselors David and Patricia Carter specialize in a variety of counseling issues, including (but not limited to): Depression and Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders, Relationship Issues, Personal Wellness, Phase of Life Issues, Stress, Anger, Drug and Alcohol Issues, Abuse and Grief.

Patricia L. Carter, MA, LIMHP (Trish) has  accumulated  over 20 years of experience  in the  social services field  while  at  Boystown, The  Salvation  Army, and  as  a  professional counselor in  private practice. Additional previous experiences  include  instructing in the  Psychology Department for the College of Saint Mary and  in the Counselor Education  Department at the University of Nebraska - Omaha. She has also served on  numerous community mental health forums  and is  a   member  of  the  American   Counseling   Association.  Trish   is  a  Nebraska  Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner.

David J. Carter, PhD, LIMHP, LPC has  over 30 years  of  counseling experience. He is  a Professor in the Counselor Education  Program  at the  University  of Nebraska – Omaha  and  serves  on  the  American Counseling Association's  Professional Standards  Committee. Previous  experiences  included residing  as  President  of the  South Omaha  Counseling Agency and  serving  as  Department Chair for Addiction  Studies  at  Methodist College. His  active  participation  in  community health  organizations  includes   serving  as  former  president  of  the  Nebraska  Counseling Association. David  is  a  Nebraska  Licensed  Mental Health  Practitioner and  Licensed  Professional Counselor.
