About

Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico to an Irish-American father and Puerto Rican mother, Celia Pomerantz’s passion for marketing started as soon as she moved to New Jersey at age eight.  Her early start ups included peddling pints of farm fresh strawberries door to door and selling soft drinks to short-tempered drivers waiting their turn to gas up during the 1974 gas shortage.

When she grew up, she put her guilty pleasure of chocolate to good use and started a national mail order company called Chocolate Explosion Brownies. Her marketing career also included directing sales and marketing for White Flower Farm, the premier horticulture mail order company.  Currently, Celia is the marketing maven for her husband’s photography business in Litchfield County, CT.

Alzheimer’s: A Mother Daughter Journey is her first book.  As her mother’s primary caregiver, Celia learned that convincing a person with Alzheimer’s to do basic things like take a shower, take pills or get ready for bed required a compassionate marketing and sales plan.  Her loving approach was anchored by mission statements that helped her stay clear and focused.  As a result, Celia turned this stressful process into a period of beautiful and memorable moments.
