The law firm of Kathleen W. Schoenberg, P.A. (http://www.kwspa.com) has been representing charter schools throughout the State of Florida since 2003.
Kathleen W. Schoenberg has counseled over 100 charter schools in three states during their start-up and operational phases. Ms. Schoenberg has advised charter schools in such areas as charter application review, charter contract negotiations, facility/real estate solutions, enrollment issues, vendor agreements and board training.  She has also provided advice on issues relating to the school’s ongoing operations, including employment issues, charter compliance, state and federal statutes, district relations, and student discipline.
Ms. Schoenberg is one of a small number of Florida Department of Education certified governance trainers. Her firm provides the state-mandated training through both live seminars and a cost-efficient online course at charterschooltraining.com (http://www.charterschooltraining.com).
Ms. Schoenberg has worked with charter schools since 1997, when she helped found a law firm in Philadelphia dedicated exclusively to serving Pennsylvania charter schools.  Kathleen represented the first charter school in Pennsylvania and handled the first Pennsylvania charter school appeal in 1999.
Kathleen graduated from Temple University School of Law with honors, and from Rutgers University with a B.A. in communications with high honors.  She is a frequent speaker at charter school conferences and seminars and has presented at the Chautauqua Institution. Ms. Schoenberg serves as a consultant for the Southern Regional Education Board and has been a member of the Florida Bar Association Education Law Committee.
