About

Cherokee Government Applications LLC (CGA) is a small Native American owned business located in the heart of the Cherokee Nation. Its CEO Scott Fry, is a LSU Graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the LSU College of Engineering and Business Administration located in Baton Rouge Louisiana, home of the LSU TIgers. Before entering the government contracting sector, Scott  spent over 15 years internationally in the oil and gas industry as a Acquisition Geophysicist.. In 2001 Scott decided to begin his career in business as a wireless application developer. His first major project involved allowing parents in London to browse their mobile phones over a private wireless network to view their children in daycare. This was the first undertaking of its kind and was featured on ABC Good Morning America, Hewlett Packard, and CNN television commercials. In 2004 Scott  appeared in the press again, streaming live thermal infrared images over a secure defense mesh network which was later integrated into Iraq for US security forces. During this time, Scott learned some very significant lessons, 1) control your passion, it can cost you 2) Do not mess your personal or business credit up , no matter what 3) Be brutally honest  with yourself. 4) Sometimes, its better to fly lateral as opposed to vertical as long as your have air keep moving. 5) If you have crated the next best electronic gizmo, a) protect your IP b) Find an underwriter that is of good repute and fair. c) You have no right to be greedy, if they take you on, their costs will be 100 times yours. Take a fraction of what you want. for example, if i sell 8M gallons of fuel and I make 1 cent of that, guess what, that's  80000 dollars. Get in the game and loose the emotion. d)This is one idea, there will be more if you are talented.
In 2010 Scott formed CGA (Cherokee Government Applications LLC) to provide a financial base for his advancements and research efforts in defense applications.
He chose this route due to the amount of time it takes to get an approved project through any agency within the Federal government. he would rather pay for the research himself and take advantage of the Federal tax rules that allow a 75% write off of defense related  R and D.
At the beginning of 2010, Scott realized that in order to achieve his directive he must enter the coliseum of the Washington DC beltway. He calls this his Rome "and it certainly will not be built in a day". In February 2010 Scott moves to the DC area and begins to research how small business is currently being done. Astonished, he realizes that most small businesses are operating on a entitlement platform within his product area. He saw nothing that enticed the customer to purchase again.
It did not take him long to outline a radical shift in the way that this game should be played. In July and August of 2010, CGA's sales were skyrocketing. Within 6 months we were already looking at a half million dollar year. CGA was operating with only 2 employees and drowning in administrative upkeep. After this administrative bashing , Scott designed the architecture of www.cgadirect.com or what is known as in the Federal distribution sector as  the CGA Marketplace a full-fledged ERP equipped Market place that offers over 70000 janitorial and industrial MRO products. Scott says "We may be small, disadvantaged  HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business) Zone, but with the size of our testicular leverage, and innate creativity, we have evolved as a formidable competitor to Lowes, Home Depot, HD Supply and Grainger, in terms of our pricing and service capability. We distribute in 48 states with free delivery.  Currently CGA services the DOL, DOD, DLA, Smithsonian and BIA.
