Child & Family Guidance Center has been dedicated to providing quality mental health services to children, adults, and families for approximately 125 years. They serve tens of thousands of clients each year throughout 8 North Texas counties, including Dallas, Collin, Denton (new), Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro, and Rockwall.

Child & Family clients suffer from many illnesses, including major depression, schizophrenia and other psychoses, bi-polar or related personality disorders, and emotional trauma. The agency's services are designed to help meet the need by treating these and other illnesses children, adults, and families live with, including:

Psychiatric Evaluations & Medication Management
Individual Screenings & Counseling
Community-based Rehabilitation Services for Adults
Skills Training for Children
Case Management
Comprehensive Telemedicine & Telehealth

Child & Family also offers the following programs for those living with more serious mental illness, requiring a higher level of care:

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
Community-based mental health care for adults living with a serious mental illness that interferes with their ability to live in the community, attend appointments, and manage mental health symptoms.

Outpatient Competency Restoration (OCR)
Community-based services for adults who have been diagnosed with a chronic, persistent mental illness and deemed incompetent to stand trial.

Safety Net (Drug Prevention & Intervention)
School & Community-based, youth program serving Dallas, Collin, & Denton counties via drug and alcohol education, goal-setting, stress management, communication skills, and anger management.

Youth Empowerment Services (YES Waiver)
Family-centered, community-based, program designed to help children and youth, ages 3 to 18, who are at risk of out-of-home placement due to serious mental, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
