Circular Urban Energy (CUE) is a project development platform focused on building scalable infrastructure that converts municipal solid waste (MSW) into low-carbon fuels, including Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). By integrating advanced thermochemical conversion technologies—specifically gasification and Fischer–Tropsch synthesis—CUE transforms urban waste streams into clean, usable energy, addressing two critical challenges simultaneously: the growing burden of waste management and the urgent need for decarbonization in hard-to-abate sectors such as aviation.
CUE’s approach is rooted in developing real, financeable infrastructure rather than conceptual solutions. The platform brings together feedstock systems, technology integration, site development, and permitting into a unified framework, ensuring that projects are designed from the outset to be technically viable, commercially structured, and scalable. Each project is progressed through a disciplined, stage-based development process, moving from early feasibility through to engineering definition and ultimately toward bankable, construction-ready assets.
At the core of this model is the recognition that municipal waste represents an underutilized resource. In rapidly urbanizing regions, waste volumes continue to rise while landfill capacity becomes increasingly constrained. At the same time, global aviation is undergoing a structural shift toward lower-carbon fuels. CUE connects these dynamics by creating circular systems where waste is not discarded, but converted into a valuable input for energy production. This enables both environmental impact—through reduced landfill dependence and lower emissions—and economic value through the creation of sustainable fuel supply chains.
CUE is currently advancing a flagship project in the Jewar region within the Delhi NCR corridor, strategically located near the upcoming Noida International Airport. This location provides access to large and consistent MSW feedstock, while also aligning with one of India’s fastest-growing aviation hubs. The project is intended to serve as a reference model for future developments, demonstrating how integrated waste-to-fuel infrastructure can be implemented at scale in urban environments.
The broader vision for CUE is to establish a replicable platform that can be deployed across multiple cities, creating a network of circular energy assets. By standardizing development processes and integrating key components of the value chain, CUE aims to reduce execution risk and accelerate the adoption of waste-to-fuel systems. This platform-led approach is designed to support long-term growth while maintaining alignment with sustainability objectives.
As the global energy transition accelerates, the need for practical, scalable solutions becomes increasingly important. CUE is positioned at the intersection of waste management, clean energy, and infrastructure development, with a focus on delivering projects that are both environmentally meaningful and commercially viable. Through this approach, the company aims to contribute to the development of cleaner cities, more efficient resource utilization, and the emergence of sustainable fuel ecosystems.
