Cross-Pollinate is a website that since 2000 has set out to make it just as easy to book a private apartment or small B & B as it is to reserve a hotel. Owned and operated by Steve and Linda, American couple who moved to Rome, Italy in 1999 to open The Beehive Hotel and began Cross-Pollinate as way to help guests they couldn't accommodate find a special place to stay.  With a presence in 6 major European cities, they inspect all their properties and ensure that everything on the site is a personal recommendation.
