About

CrystalSpace is a European space and defense technology company specializing in high-performance camera systems for satellites, landers, rovers, and security-critical applications. Founded in 2013, the company has more than a decade of experience designing and delivering robust imaging systems for extreme environments, with over 200 flight units delivered to date.

Our camera systems are currently operating in Earth orbit, onboard NASA’s Artemis SAMPLR lander via Maxar, and integrated into multiple Moon landers and robotic missions. CrystalSpace cameras support a wide range of mission-critical use cases, including robotic arm control, separation and deployment monitoring, terrain and navigation imaging, and system health verification. In addition to operational imaging, our systems are also used for public relations imagery and panels and antenna deployment monitoring.

Building on its heritage in spaceflight-proven imaging, CrystalSpace has expanded its product portfolio to address emerging defense and dual-use requirements. Our second-generation camera platforms support onboard image processing and the execution of AI models directly on the camera, enabling capabilities such as space situational awareness (SSA), object detection, autonomous navigation, and real-time decision support.

By combining compact, flight-proven hardware, configurable optics, and advanced onboard processing, CrystalSpace delivers reliable imaging solutions for next-generation space and defense missions where performance, autonomy, and low SWaP are critical.
