CSSI® company background

Computer Support Services, Incorporated, was founded in downtown Lewisburg in 1973 specifically to serve the data processing needs of a local fuel oil distributor.  The company purchased an IBM minicomputer—a very expensive proposition at the time—to schedule fuel oil deliveries.  To offset costs, the company provided data processing services to other area businesses that could not afford their own computer systems.

By 1980, two innovative employees with entrepreneurial spirit acquired the company and reorganized it under the name Computer Support Services, Inc. (CSSI).  Around this time declining computer prices, promoted many companies to install minicomputers, creating a new demand for software development and application maintenance.  CSSI developed programming expertise to capitalize on the new market.  Soon after, the advent of personal computers and packaged software enabled CSSI to embrace the role of software reseller and systems integrator.

Today, CSSI maintains corporate headquarters on North 15th Street in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.  CSSI also maintains sales offices in Camp Hill, Reading, and Pittsburgh.  The company’s array of products and services includes computer technical support, bar code scanning systems, RFID, computer networks, disaster recovery and business continuity, custom software design and development, business form and label design, Microsoft® Dynamics GP accounting software sales and support, and CoreIntegrator® Content Management, document scanning and storage software. With an international customer base, CSSI brings depth and breadth to solving any IT challenge.
